Mission statement and goals
Our Mission Statement:
First Christian Church is a Christ-centered community
dedicated to making more and better disciples.
Three major goals of FCC:
#1. Be an "Externally Focused" church
#2. Grow through "Relational Discipleship"
#3. Be spiritually and relationally "Healthy"
These three goals are like a three legged stool. Try
to balance on a two legged stool (or have just two
major goals). You cannot balance for very long
(and you may become short sighted).
But a three legged stool gives the added support,
bringing balance to our ministry and allowing us to
be purposeful in our actions.
Relational discipleship, we believe is the best way
to spiritually grow. Inward growth encouraged by
a small group of people living life together in
community fellowship, study, prayer, mutual support
and most importantly administering Christ's love and grace.
With inner spiritual growth occurring in an individual
there must be an outward response. When as a body
of Christ we step outside the four walls
of our church and take on the causes of the poor,
the hungry, the widows, and the homeless we
pursue the heart matters of Christ. Being
externally focused gets us into our
community and allows us to be eternally focused.
